Our two bedroomed and one bedroomed gites are immaculately clean and pleasantly furnished. Choose from Gite Rouge (two bedroomed gite with a king sized bed and two twin beds) or Gite Bleu (one bedroomed gite with a king sized bed) with countryside views and virtually no road noise.

Adults and children alike will find their favourite spot to play, swim, relax in the hot tub ,or just relax with a good book and a glass of wine. You set the pace!

Welcome to Les Bardeaux Gites in the Dordogne.

We are so happy that you found us and look forward to welcoming you soon to Gite Rouge (two bedroomed family gite) or Gite Bleu (one bedroomed couple’s retreat).

We feel so honoured when guests choose us for their stay in the Dordogne. We work hard to ensure your stay is just perfect and we’re on hand should you need anything.

Our Location

Les Bardeaux gites are nestled in a rural countryside setting in the heart of the Perigord Vert. The region’s best hiking and cycling trails are accessible from the doorstep and within an hour’s drive, visit the region’s historic towns and monuments.

You’ll find everything you need to enjoy your holiday in the nearby towns of Nontron and Piegut-Pluvier: local stores, food market and a selection of restaurants, coffee shops, cafes and bars.

Accessibility

Please note that our gites are not accessible for those with mobility issues/wheelchair users for the following reasons:
– the driveway is made up of small stone gravel.
– the external areas of both gites include stairways.
– all bedrooms are situated at the top of a flight of stairs.

How To Arrive?

To arrive by car head for the bar in Abjat-sur-Bandiat. From the bar (bar on your left) head to the island and take the second exit. You will drive down the hill, past the fishing lake on your left hand side. Keep going up the hill until you get a right turn to Gros Puy. Turn right. Drive along that road, through Gros Puy, keep going along the winding road until you get to a left turn to Les Bardeaux. Then you just need to get to the end of that road.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reservations are confirmed on receipt of your reservation by email or by phone. Bookings must be paid by acceptable and valid credit card, bank transfer or by cash.

All published rates include VAT where applicable (and local taxes) at the current rate.

Rates are per room per night. If you have selected supplements they will be added to the total price of the booking.

Rates quoted are correct only for the specific number of guests, nights and dates shown. Should you change the number of guests, dates or room nights, then the rates are subject to change.

The minimum stay is three nights.

We currently operate a Covid-Cancellation Policy. If you are unable to travel due to Covid restrictions we will give you the opportunity to book a date in the future or we will cancel your booking and refund the full amount.

For our standard cancellation policy please get in touch and we will provide our terms and conditions.

We welcome 2 well-behaved dogs in each gite.

We welcome children at our Gite Rouge family accommodation and provide a high chair, travel cot and stair guard. Please contact us for further details.

Our Gite Bleu accommodation is not set up for families with small children. Please contact us if you are considering staying with children.

We can sometimes be flexible on arrival and departure dates and times.  If you are unable to select the dates you would like in the calendar please contact us.

Check-in is at 4pm and check-out is at 11am. There is a late checkout option for €30.  Please advise your requirements at the time of booking and we will confirm if it’s possible to accommodate a later check-out.

Yes, we provide free Wifi which is stable and fast.

Abjat-sur-Bandiat is a 5 minutes drive from Les Bardeaux.

We will be happy to organise a welcome pack and extra shopping for your arrival. Please let us know in advance what you need.

No, we supply clean bed linen and towels for your stay.

Thank you for asking! Yes, we do. Treading mud through the house makes extra work for you during your stay and for our cleaners when you leave. We really appreciate that you leave your muddy boots and all muddy items at the door. We have supplied a boot cleaner and a little deposit box to leave them until your next wear!
